HISTORY & EXPERIENCE
Jeroen Gerrese is President of P3 International. As one of the hospitality industry’s top operators he is uniquely qualified to oversee advisory services associated with pre and post opening operations and asset management of hotels and resorts.
Mr. Gerrese has over 25 years of experience and is a respected industry leader. His impressive credentials include a detailed knowledge of the operations of national and international hotels and resorts that cater to the discriminating traveler.
Prior to joining P3 International, Mr. Gerrese worked for nearly 10 years with Marriott Hotels and Interstate Hotels and Resorts, both domestically and abroad. Mr. Gerrese opened the Marriott Royal, adjacent to the world famous Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and was an Area GM for the 3 hotels. Mr. Gerrese’s last position was with Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa which received the much coveted AAA Four Diamond award under his leadership.
Prior to joining Marriott, Mr. Gerrese was the Managing Director for the Millennium Britannia Hotel on Grosvenor Square in London, UK. Before that he spent 12 years in New York where, as Hotel Manager, he oversaw the opening of Intercontinental Hotels Group’s 770 rooms, Crowne Plaza Hotel in Times Square. He has also served as General Manager of the Drake Hotel on Park Avenue, as well as Executive Director/General Manager of the world famous Waldorf Towers at the Waldorf Astoria. In this capacity, Mr. Gerrese helped make the Towers one of the select “Leading Hotels of the World” and catered to the world’s captains of industry, including the United Nations General Assembly, which he hosted each year. Before his time in New York, Mr. Gerrese spent 5 years with Omni Hotels in various executive leadership positions.
Apart from his work, Mr. Gerrese maintains an active commitment to education and the community. He has been a guest lecturer at NYU and has been involved in several chamber boards in California and Moscow. His past activities include serving as the Vice Chair at the Ocean Institute and as Chairman of the Tourism Business Improvement District.
Mr. Gerrese has received 2 Distinguished Citizen awards from the cities of Baltimore, Maryland and Providence, Rhode Island. He won “Hotel of the Year” twice with Marriott and was named the “General Manager of the Year” by the Southern California writers. In addition to a Priority Club award from Intercontinental Hotels Group, he was voted one of the 12 Best Food & Beverage Directors by Esquire magazine and John Mariani.
Mr. Gerrese is a graduate of the University of Hotel Management Maastricht, The Netherlands and holds a post Graduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
Svetlana Filev is Vice President, Marketing, at P3 International.
Ms. Filev has over 12 years of experience in Design, Marketing, Public Relations, and Business Development. Prior to joining P3 International Ms. Filev worked for a Regent Development, Comstock’s Business Magazine and KCRA television. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Design.
Kirk Van Cleave is Vice President, Operations at P3 International.
Mr. Van Cleave has been a practicing architect in the arena of publicly funded, publicly bid projects for most of his career. He has been responsible for all aspects of design management, budget and schedule management, resource allocation, construction management and post occupancy warranty. His projects have ranged from public safety projects to city halls and community centers. Most recently, Mr. Van Cleave has worked on several State of California projects. Mr. Van Cleave has over 30 years of experience and developed a document quality control protocol which resulted in an average of less than 1/2 of 1% in non-owner initiated change orders. Mr. Van Cleave is currently a board member of the Design Build Institute of America and is a member of the DBIA Owner's Council.
Iqbal A. Bharoocha is Vice President, Finance at P3 International.
Mr. Bharoocha has over 17 years progressive experience in financial management, accounting, auditing, organizational management and strategic planning. Prior to joining Ps International Mr. Bharoocha was Director of Finance for Regent Hospitality LLC, Vice President Finance & systems for JDC & Company and CFO for International Windsor Group. Mr. Bharoocha has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Management, Accounting, Auditing, and Business Law.
Duane Wray is Executive Director, Capital Improvements at P3 International.
Duane joined the firm in 2001 to manage forward planning, including architectural design, permitting, entitlement and construction. An engineer by training, he has 40 years experience in construction management and has worked for the Federal, State and Local Government as well as the California Community Colleges. A retired Air Force Colonel, he supervised more than 800 civilian and military members of the Base Civil engineer Squadron. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he served the City of Sacramento managing engineering, architecture and facility maintenance. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas A & M University. He is a Graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College and the Air War College.
Roberto Salinas is Executive Director, Schools Division at P3 International.
Roberto brings a wealth of experience to P3's Schools Division. Prior to joining P3, Roberto held the position of Superintendent of Schools for the last 15 years in the respective communities serving the Dixon, Newman-Crows Landing, and Shoreline Unified School Districts. Over his career in Education, he has served in a variety of capacities, including Teacher's Aide, Teacher, High School Counselor, both Elementary and High School Principal, Assistant Superintendent of both Curriculum & Instruction and Business Services/Facilities, and Associate Professor at San Diego State & CSU, Stanislaus. Roberto is a former migrant student who understands the obstacles that impact students in their quest for a quality education. Given this history, his passion is truly to champion the education of all students and the preparation of the educational leaders who will accomplish this important task. He has been highly involved with local and statewide community groups in the areas where he has worked, has served on Federal & State taskforces/ committees, and has held leadership positions in the educational associations in which he holds membership. He is currently the President of the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators. Roberto is currently serving as the Executive Director of California's P-16 Council. The Council is working on Superintendent Jack O'Connell's Closing The Achievement Gap Initiative. The primary focus of the Council is to develop, implement and sustain a specific, ambitious plan that holds the California Department of Education accountable for creating the conditions necessary for closing the achievement gap. Roberto's experience in education provides P3 and its clients with a unique perspective on how the physical structure of a school can best promote learning. Roberto understands how school projects are funded and approved and is entirely familiar with the political and regulatory framework for school construction.
Christian Wicks is Vice President, Project Management at P3 International.
Chris Wicks has over 40 years of experience managing design and construction projects. He excels in delivering project/construction management oversight through all phases of project development, including scoping, pre-design, permitting, value engineering, construction administration closeout and post-construction. He has significant experience managing historic preservation projects, including the Ahwahnee and Wawona hotels in Yosemite NP, and Hearst Castle. He has a BS, Civil Engineering, CSU Chico; Construction Management Certificate, University of California, Davis; Certified Field Testing Technician, American Concrete Institute (ACI) Engineer-in-Training Certificate, California and Instructor, Project Management/Scheduling, University of California, Davis Extension.
United States Postal Service ($35 million) Construction manager of the USPS 300,000 sf expansion of their Sacramento Process and Distribution Center.
Delaware North Company Parks and Resorts at Yosemite ($50 million Program) Served as the Program Manager for the Capitol Improvement Fund for Yosemite National Park, a fund provided by the Delaware North Company Parks and Resorts (DNC) and administered by the National Park Service (NPS) for DNC.
CalFire Replacement Program ($45 million/year program) Served as Program Manager for the construction of new forest fire stations, conservation camps, air attack bases, and communication network for CalFire to replace out-dated or dilapidated facilities.
California Department of Justice Forensic Lab Program (90 million program) As Program Manager, was responsible for developing scope of program in coordination with DOJ, program design, implementation of design, and overall construction of six new state-of-the-art forensic labs, and consolidation of Statewide DNA facilities into Richmond facility.
California Administrative Office of the Courts ($140 million program) As Program Manager, was responsible for developing scope of projects in coordination with AOC personnel; program design; budget review and cost analysis; short and long range planning and scheduling; and implementation of design for several Appellate Court Buildings Statewide.
Elihu M. Harris State Office Building, Oakland, CA ($165 million) Served as Project Director, for the 25 story, 750,000 sf office building in downtown Oakland, housing 2000 State employees from 44 different agencies and offices. Project was design-build delivery.
Hearst Castle, San Simeon, CA ($1.2 million) Project Manager for the installation of an in-ground million-gallon concrete water tank for fire protection immediately adjacent to the castle.
